Since the early 1900s · Parma, ItalyFive generations, always in transport

Ours is a story of more than 100 years and five generations, always tied to transport. The Piccinini family is personally involved in running the company.

It all began with Pietro Piccinini, who at the beginning of the last century started carting gravel with horses. New challenges followed naturally: from gravel to work in East Africa during the Africa campaign (1933–1940), and then back to Fidenza with general cargo and the first jobs for the Barilla pasta factories.

The turning point came in the 1960s: the first services for Montedison, with silo trucks and container chassis, opened the way to experimenting with bulk plastics, an entirely new field at the time.

Today we specialise in transporting bulk granular and powdered chemical products. From the experiments of the 1970s we have moved to a proven, efficient system for delivering products by silo truck and container chassis.

We operate in the Italian market but, aware that borders keep widening, we pay ever closer attention to intermodal transport and goods arriving at ports.

Our strengths? Constant pursuit of technical innovation and professionalism shared by everyone in our team, together with attention to our customers’ needs and a service that is as tailored and flexible as possible.

Since 2023 we have added repackaging with an automatic bag-cutting machine: we handle 25 kg bags, big bags from 500 to 1,200 kg, octabins and bulk, so customers can buy material in formats other than the one they need and leave the conversion to us.

Our new head office

In 2014 we closed our office on Via Emilia in Parma and built a new facility at our depot in the Parma inland terminal, bringing all departments together:

  • Management
  • Depot
  • Traffic
  • Accounts
  • Repackaging

We also moved our in-house workshop here, for routine maintenance of our own vehicles. The building was designed to modern energy-saving and insulation standards, for sustainability, comfort and more efficient use of resources.
